Mr. Gorby is a passionate teacher-leader in Baltimore City who joined Hampden Elementary/Middle (E/M) to teach 5th grade in SY 16-17 after having worked at Collington Square E/M is East Baltimore since 2009. He has worked as a 4th and 5th grade educator, as well as served 3 years as a school-based instructional coach and curriculum facilitator as a Lead Teacher. He brings his energy and enthusiasm to the classroom so each and every student has access to, and understands the power of knowledge. It is important that students learn with joy and take control of their future. His classroom slogan is, "Growing stronger and taller every day in a peaceful way."
Mr. Gorby lives near Hampden E/M with his wife and two sons. He has both a Masters degree and Administrator I certification from Johns Hopkins University School of Education, where he earned 2016's Student Excellence Award in Administration and Supervision.
