My students need the Osmo Genius Kit to use their iPads in a collaborative and creative way. Each day, while my 17 hardworking students are learning how to read, write, and think they spend some amount of time working in small groups. The Osmo turns the iPad into an interactive, creative experience where they can learn, explore, and collaborate while gaining immediate feedback. While at small workstations, my students will use physical objects in the area in front of the tablet to solve math problems, manipulate puzzles, spell words, and draw. Most importantly they will do this together! For some of the children in our Title 1 school, the school day provides the only exposure to technology that they so desperately need in our ever changing world. My goal is to provide them with the best opportunities to engage not only with cutting edge technology, but more importantly, with each other! The Osmo allows students to explore reading, writing, word building, and math in a fun and rewarding way. Every minute of the school day is a valuable time that we can make the most of with the right resources. My goal is to give them this tool to make learning both fun and interactive.
