My students are young adults (18-21 years old) with disabilities. In our transition program, students learn vocational skills, living skills, and social skills.
My students are creative and want to learn how to create items they can sell after completing the program. The Silhouette Cameo and accessories will help them to learn this skill and perfect the craft. Students will learn how to design and create graphics to make t-shirts, hats, aprons, and various other items. They will also learn how to design paper art and create cards. These are vocational skills they can utilize to earn money when they complete their education.
An important component of our transition program is learning how to cook and complete daily living skills. The Instant Pot, accessories and cookbooks will allow students to cook meals quickly, safely, and encourage them to try new foods. Students will plan biweekly meals, create grocery lists, shop for the items and then prepare the meal. The Instant Pot will allow students to cook items (roasts, chicken, etc) at school that they otherwise would not be able to because of time constraints. The vacuum cleaner is needed to keep the classroom clean.
