Many of my students struggle with staying in their seats and focusing. They are expected to sit still for much of their 6 1/2 hour school day. Our seats that the district provides are very hard and uncomfortable. This causes my students to frequently get up to move around, or lean back in their chairs, risking tipping over and hitting their heads. I already have a couch and some bean bags in my classroom, which the students enjoy, but it isn't enough. I need some alternative seating options that students can use at their seats. These wobble chairs and balance balls will allow students to sit at their table and work while also being able to wiggle around a bit.
Research has shown that alternative seating options help to improve focus. I already have a couch and some bean bags in my classroom, which the students enjoy, but this moves them away from their table group, so they can't work collaboratively. I need some alternative seating options that students can use at their tables. These wobble chairs and balance balls will allow students to sit at their table and work while also being able to wiggle around a bit. Please help me help my struggling students focus through movement!
