I teach at a Title One school, which means that all my students live near or below the poverty level. My second graders live in a major metropolitan city in California in the center of an area commonly known as "The Witches Hat", because of the triangular area of high gang activity. Despite their many challenges at home, we have perfect attendance almost everyday. They love school and are eager to learn.
