I teach autistic children with a variety of intellectual, physical, and sensory impairments as well as emotional difficulties. My students are focusing their time in school on preparing for life skills and a transition into middle school; that looks different for every student. We work with each student individually to help them communicate what their personal goals and visions for their futures are.
My students are looking forward to being as independent as possible in order to increase their confidence and educational success.
Due to the sensory difficulties, physical handwriting impairments and cognitive deficits, we are requiring much more adaptive technology and specialty items this year. My students desperately need sensory stimulation and assistive technology for learning tasks.
About my class
