3rd-5th grade students with Intellectual Disabilities attend a special day program within a STEAM/Magnet elementary school. They live in a high poverty community. Many are bussed from various areas in the district. We work daily on many social skills such as sharing, turn-taking, or playing games in addition to functional academic skills in reading, writing and math. Our kids do best when we make learning fun and engaging.
