Our school is a magnet school so each student voluntarily attends through open enrollment. My students are amazingly creative and love projects which enable them to apply skills to real-world situations. Most have opportunities to travel and see the world but they are amazingly lacking in their critical thinking, communication skills, and resiliency when faced with failure. They need to be introduced to problems that aren't easily solved. Our students are of the generation that doesn't remember a time before technology. They are "digital" natives and tend to take technology for granted. They are constantly using it but never creating with it. I believe robotics and coding will help them learn these skills that are critical for their success in today's work force.
