My students deserve to have a teacher who is prepared in every capacity to lead them on this new journey of digital learning. The PreK students in my county will be issued IPads to access their digital classroom and daily activities. The devices requested (IPad and Document Camera) will allow my students to benefit by seeing stories being read to them projected on their IPad. As a teacher having access to the same device that the children are being issued will allow me to use the same medium that the students are using. This device will allow my students to benefit greatly from my having a device that is capable of recording lessons of instruction for them and allows me to interact with them daily during live lessons.
The use of numbers and letters in the Pre-K curriculum enhances student’s ability to visualize, learn to read more quickly and easily, and enables multiple types of learners. Using a magnetic whiteboard and document camera, with upper and lower case letters and numbers, and other manipulatives assist with overall learning, ability to speak more clearly, recite numbers forward and backward, and provides the students the ability to see what they are learning. Students are provided both visual and auditory cues while learning. The document camera will be used for teacher modeling of skills and differentiated instruction. This type of learning increases the ability to meet standardized state learning requirements.
