I teach a self contained special education classroom in Oklahoma. As stated earlier our school is located in a military town. Several transfers happen mid year due to relocation. I am consistently printing visual schedules, IEPs, adaptive notebooks, and hands on manipulatives for my students. The only color printer that my school has is located in the principal office. Therefore, to print in color, I have to email my documents to the principal and wait for her to print them. She is not always in the building due to meetings. Also, the school printer does not print on card stock and the materials printed aren't lasting as long.
My students require adaptive work and a large amount of confidential paperwork to be printed frequently. I make several adaptive notebooks for my nonverbal student to ensure their success in the classroom. By bringing color to these adaptive notebooks it engages the students more. Visual schedules are also something used in my classroom daily. By being able to take real life pictures of what we are doing and print them in color helps with smoother transitions in the classroom. Our classroom appreciates your support!
