We are returning to our beautiful building after 6 weeks of virtual learning, and although stress is high and we're not 100% sure how it'll work, this will come as a massive relief to many of our families. I saw students attending online classes from fast food dining rooms, day care centers, and even inside cars parked on the street as their father finished up a job at a customer's home. The students who's family elected they return to in-person despite worries about exposure will have to comply with stringent distancing guidelines from the district that confine them to a desk for 6 1/2 hours a day, their only break being a half-hour socially distant and playground-less recess.
Once a week, I will have the privilege of rolling my ARTCART into their room and together, for 45 minutes, we can breath, be creative, and be ourselves! To accomplish this within district guidelines, every student must have their own supplies and nothing can be shared. Please please help so we can continue to provide our students a meaningful art education. This project will give each child with their own painting supplies so we can continue to explore our materials and exercise our creativity and intuition-- a practice that cannot be overestimated during these trying times. Thank you so much!
