This entire project seeks to cultivate a classroom that honors and supports the excited, curious, and wiggly bodies of my students. These tools will allow for the creation of a safe space for social and emotional regulation, for a little extra bounce at their seats that won't disturb their learning and a variety of ways to sit and engage the many things we will be learning together.
All of this serves to make our room more welcoming, more equitable, and more beneficial for these wonderful tiny humans as they enter kindergarten.
This project includes fidget bands for those bouncy feet at their work tables. It includes surf desks to curl up on the floor and still have a work surface, and wobble cushions for rug time and reading center. All of these flexible seating arrangements allow for maximum comfort and accommodation for all of my students. These materials enable me as a teacher to care for my students as whole persons.
