I "officially" teach Art and Music to K-5 students in Kentucky. However, over the last several years I have developed a curriculum that combines visual and performing arts with history, human geography, and social emotional learning. My students come from all over the world, so we utilize that lens of diversity in everything we do. My students are constantly learning about other people and cultures (e.g. dot paintings from Indigenous Australians, Zampoña from the Andean region, and various textile styles from different parts of both East and West Africa).
I work hard to make sure my students feel comfortable being their most authentic selves while in my room. My goal is to empower students to use their creativity to explore new things and think in new ways. I want to help create future leaders who are both innovative AND empathetic in their approach to life, and we're going to have a lot of fun along the way!
