I teach 1,400 students at a huge Title I Elementary School.
My little ones (PreK to 1st) are always asking for a class involving messy paint. It's their favorite thing to do, and many of them don't get to have this experience outside of my art room. I looove letting them do this, but uniforms can get messy, real fast. They worry about getting in trouble at home for having stained clothes. Many parents aren't able to buy a new uniform for them, but I remind them that our tempera paint is washable. I comfort them as best as I can, even if their messy image is mostly cute and funny.
I don't currently have any aprons for them, so these would surely save them from many mishaps.
Tempera cakes will be a much easier way for them to explore the many wonders of paint. My students will be able to experiment with color mixing and create colorful paintings! Also, the easy setup and cleaning of these are a blessing to many art teachers. I just want my kids and I to join in on the fun!
