I work in a urban, gateway community just north of Boston. Our students come from all nationalities including Italian, Haitian, Brazilian, Salvadorian, Cape Verdean, and many more. While the world economy is changing and technology is advancing, the focus on STEM fields in public schools has not met with the demand. My school is hoping to change that by inspiring students to investigate careers in STEM. Our students are eager to learn many new things. We cannot keep up with the demand! They love building, programming, and designing. Over the first half of this school year, my students' curiosity in STEM has tripled. They cannot wait for the next project!
