I am a 3rd grade general education teacher in a co-teaching classroom. I teach all subjects to general education students, however during Math, Social Studies, and Science I teach special education students.
In Ohio, our third grade students are required to pass a computerized reading test in order to move on to fourth grade. This requirement puts great stress on these 8 yr olds during a time that learning should be fun and engaging. Students must stay focused and engaged in classroom activities.
I would like to provide all students with the best possible learning environment and that means making my classroom kid friendly! Students need to feel like their classroom is home. Traditional classroom seating does not meet the need of all learners, especially young children who like to move, bounce, and fidget. That is why classroom stability balls would be an excellent additional to my classroom.
