My students are struggling learners with behavioral issues in a school district where poverty is overwhelming. We have a traditional classroom set up, however, my students are not traditional learners. The carpet, chairs, and other items will allow students to take time to read, in a relaxing enjoyable atmosphere.
We have a Movie Theme in the classroom this school year, and the materials will be used to create a movie themed reading/relaxation center students can go to for independent reading time or just to calm down when they need to practice that skill, using calming techniques that are taught in the classroom.
