Here in the Midwest we are heading into winter and we've already started having indoor recess. Our classroom doesn't have a lot of age appropriate games that students are excited to play. They just want to sit on their laptops. I want to encourage social skills, interaction, and problem solving, even during indoor recess, by supplying the game closet with new games: Charades, Connect 4, Sorry, Trouble, Twister and STEM activities; Magna-Tiles, Jenga, Kanoodle, and Lego. Building community with hands-on building and creation activities, group games, individual mind puzzles, card games, all the games that kids should know how to play and that we played as kids ourselves! Low tech but high engagement!
