My students benefit from learning with a hands on approach. I work with 8 students in first through fourth grade diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. My students learn by discrete trials, individual, and group instruction. They are all different learners however they all benefit from visuals and repetitive instruction. Dinosaur counters will allow my students to work on counting, computation and patterning. Sequencing puzzles, floor puzzles, magnetic tiles, and bristle Blocks will promote problem solving and engineering skills. Word building puzzles, snap together letter blocks and sing along cd books will engage students while working on emergent literacy skills. All of these materials will help engage my students with a more hands on learning approach!
