My classroom is filled with resilient, hardworking, and curious students who always show up ready to learn—despite their challenges. Many of my students come from under-resourced communities and bring with them a wide range of experiences and responsibilities outside of school. Yet, they continue to inspire me with their perseverance, determination, and willingness to grow.
We are a Title I school where a large percentage of students receive free or reduced lunch, and where resources can sometimes be limited. But what we lack in materials, we make up for in heart, community, and a strong desire to learn. Our school is a safe and welcoming place where we foster empathy, flexibility, resilience, persistence, optimism, and gratitude.
