I am a second grade teacher at an urban elementary school. We are a Title I school. The population of the school consists of seventy percent students of color, sixty four percent of the students receiving free or reduced price lunch, and forty percent English Language Learners. My students are primarily Latino and African-American. Many of my students speak English as their second or third language.
