STEAM makes learning more fun and engaging, not to mention provide students with opportunities to use content knowledge and skills in ways that are practical and applicable to the real world, just like they would if they were working on science or engineering projects in the field. STEAM activities will provide my students with the opportunity to use their higher-order and critical thinking skills to solve problems and teach them how to dialogue, collaborate, and work together as a group.
With STEAM, I can ensure that students are ready for many of the challenges they will face in the real world.
With the Real-World STEM Challenges, students will be faced with tasks such as saving a town from a flash flood, rescuing a toy bear from a well, and guiding a family safely across a bridge. The STEAM kits and blocks will help to create teamwork and allow students to work on connecting the Next Generation Science Standards to the real world. Students will use these materials to complete several STEAM challenges. These materials will give my students the opportunity to think like scientists and engineers through planning, building, and testing their designs and improving them until they are successful. Please help my students move full STEAM ahead in our classroom!
