My students need printed and laminated visuals to communicate with. I have many nonverbal students on my caseload and pictures are a great start to giving them a voice! I am asking for a colored printer and laminator to make communication pictures for each of my nonverbal students. I will also use the printer and laminator to make games and resources for my students who have speech and/or language needs.
Modifications and adaptations to the classroom and curriculum, as well as individualized communication supports, are necessary to ensure student success, but also require additional resources, supplies, and materials.
These materials will also help give me tools to help my speech students more. The Speech Buddy system is a researched based resource to help show the placement of the articulators to produce certain sounds. I am also asking for sensory bin materials to allow my students to explore using their senses, which in return helps them use more language. The sensory bin materials will be used by all of my students to help motivate them to reach their speech/language goals.
