In-person public school in Fall 2020 is a topic; however, with the correct PPE, in-person instruction can provide a safe environment once again. With the support of generous donors, I could use these masks to give to students who forget theirs at home. The hand sanitizer will be used by my students multiple times throughout the school day to kill germs and prevent the spread of COVID-19 and other illnesses. Headphones are a great resource to reinforce STEM skills taught through multimedia means. Throughout the school year, the two books by Brad Meltzer will inspire young learners to rise to the many challenges presented in life by giving specific examples and situations that people throughout history have demonstrated. Also, the social studies materials will help my students identify states, capitals, and historic people through captivating social activities. STEM is not a class we teach; it's a culture we build. These STEM supplies, including the popsicle sticks, the pipe cleaners, and the plastic straws, will help build a community of productive citizens through cooperative learning, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. STEM reaches all learners, no matter their current academic ability, through hands-on and team-building challenges, and that is why I devote so much class time to this academic discipline.
