For this project, I'm asking for funding for journals, post-it's, pencils, highlighters, and expo markers. Each small item can add up in the classroom setting, which is why I'm asking for your help. The journals are my major financial concern, as I need every child to have a notebook for bi-weekly journaling. In my classroom, I have used journaling to build relationships with my students, but also to engage them in a writing process that has often been dating to them. These journals will serve as a personal narrative for my students, who will be able to see their writing growth from beginning to end. While I know some of you may be strapped for cash, even a dollar makes a difference to my learning family. Your generosity will directly contribute to giving my students journals for their bi-weekly writing assignments and the pencils to craft their work with. The additional supplies of highlighters, post-it's and expo markers will be used in the classroom for annotating other texts and peer work. These small materials will be a great relief for my students, and will alleviate a portion of their financial burden when having to gather supplies. Thank you for your consideration!
