My students are AMAZING! They are caring and giving, even though they don't possess a lot, they freely give. I work at a school that is in a poverty area, but it's a wonderful community. The wealth they possess is in their love for their family, their culture, and their friends. They are grateful for the things that matter and appreciate even the smallest gift. They greet me with a smile every morning and they work hard at learning new things every day. I worked at this school for five years before moving to Texas and upon my return, it was the only school I wanted to come back to. I teach a lot of lessons on character building and work hard to have a close classroom community and the students embody those lessons and treat each other with respect and love. I see them doing random acts of kindness and it fills me with joy when I hear them remind each other to "treat others the way you want to be treated."
