I use math centers at least three days a week. The dot robot will be a part of our math centers. Students will be able to work in teams to code the robot to help them respond to math centers. They will code using math skills and use the robot as a part of the center to work together to generate responses to real world math problems. I feel that this robot will help keep students interested and engaged in higher level thinking for greater achievement in math. The dice will be used for whole group and small group as well as center games. I have over 100 uses for the dice they will be well loved. The kids love the dice games. The board game will be a part of indoor play and center math when appropriate.
By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student engagement, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement and allow my students to experience the 21st century skill of coding and math teamwork. My students need the opportunity to work together to solve real world problems and they need exposure to the ever changing world of technology.
My students are hard workers. Many of them made growth and beyond last year in 4th grade and I am looking forward to looping with them into 5th grade. I believe that wise use of these supplies will help my students to continue to grow their math skills and broaden their horizons so that they too can be a part of math for the future.
