Some of the resources I have chosen for my project are to help my students with basic learning materials necessary for their classroom. The students work daily, at their levels, on school provided Chromebooks. To help these students listen to vocabulary, stories and articles that may be above their level, I am asking for headphones. Learning on the computer can help teachers reach students where they are at academically instead of giving them a worksheet that they might be too high or too low for. Also, I will provide students with basic necessities such as folders to hold materials. Every child is worth an education.
When choosing some of the materials for my classroom, I kept in mind the students I have. They are an exciting and active bunch of students. I included some flexible seating options to accommodate the different needs I deal with within the classroom. I have provided the students with options for flexible seating in my room already, but want to give them more. I have also included chart paper and markers to ensure that I'm able to provide examples for their learning. I am showing them what I expect of them with these materials. Using expo and permanent markers within the classroom become an expense that is unexpected. The amount of labeling and modeling done for students was unexpected when planning for the year. I also included some items that would be needed for basic use, such as staples and a stapler. Please consider helping my classes out by donating to our project.
