Our classroom needs a sensory station for students to be able to take "Brain Breaks" during the day. These middle school, special education students will use this center to regulate their emotions, stimulate their brains and reflect on their academic and personal needs, how they are presently feeling in class. My case load is made up a variety of children with multiple academic and social needs. Being new to the building, our classroom is just coming together as we decorate and will it with students work. Sitting down for 45 minutes is hard for anyone! Children with ADHD, sensory needs and social behaviors need the time and materials to take brain breaks during class and throughout the day. I am hoping to make a station with weights, kinetic sand, a stool, rubik's cube, stress balls, a sand timer to time themselves, and reflection prompts. The goal is to create a least an environment where all students can learn!
