Esperanza Rising is a riveting novel about a young girl whose world is turned upside down. Esperanza must find a way to overcome her obstacles and rise above the hardship she faces. Everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about. Our students will connect to this story in ways we can only imagine and develop relationships with one another through academic conversations about the book. Through this novel study, we hope to begin our school year by engaging our readers and developing their love of learning through reading! Our students will also discover themes and analyze character development throughout the novel to support our standards-based learning.

About my class
