The good news is my class received a grant from the Finch Robot Loan Program! The not-so-good news is these robots that we have coming need to have software downloaded onto a computer to work. Without these computers, the grant will be worthless. We have 15 robots coming, and no computers available for them to use. This will be the first opportunity for most students to use robots in the classroom, and to modify codes to manipulate its movements. I will be able to use these same computers for all of my students in 4 classes which will touch approximately 100 students! The computers will also be able to be used to give students more opportunity to research projects for background information and ideas. This will be the beginning of many uses for these computers! We need these 5 Chromebooks.
