My students come from a variety of backgrounds. Many are eager 5th and 6th graders who are looking to try a new art for their first time, so I am here to educate them through the power of music. What's wonderful about music is just like the quote used above, it has the ability to bring students together, whether they are in their gifted and talented program, or perhaps it is the art that can serve as an outlet for those who may struggle academically, but they improve not only their grades but their self-esteem through band. Music doesn't discriminate.
