The students I serve are learning in two languages with the goal of becoming biliterate, bilingual, and bicultural. As their teacher, my goal is to build a community where each student feels empowered and has the opportunity to discover their unique gifts within themselves and use those gifts for good. My goal is to build and foster a culture of efficacy, inclusion, collaboration, individuality, creativity, discovery, and safety. Many of my students have experienced trauma; therefore, my greatest desire is to effectively and creatively meet their needs and help them build their emotional resilience through cultivating compassion, positive self-perception, purposefulness, empathy, courage, efficacy, play, creation, curiosity, acceptance, and perseverance. The social and emotional growth of my students must come before and in collaboration with the academic growth, which will lead to their success!
