My students are creative problem solvers! My gifted students have unusual talent in creative thinking, general intellectual ability, specific academic ability, visual/performing arts, psychomotor, and leadership skills. They represent a population that is sometimes overlooked in increasingly crowded classrooms. Regular education teachers strive to inspire all of their students, but when they’re limited by district curriculum requirements and have fewer funds for more advanced materials, it can be challenging. Therefore, my district is funding a program to allow students who have been deemed intellectually gifted to reach their fullest potential based on their exceptional abilities.
My job is to provide these gifted students with a differentiated curriculum that will address their individual needs. I try to provide learning experiences through self-motivated discovery learning and to empower students with the knowledge and skills to create their own futures.
