Our unique school, a literature and writing school, aims to nurture creative minds and caring hearts that contribute significantly to their communities through: rich and rigorous academic experiences that are tailored to individual needs, divergent thinking and artistic expression, work in collaborative teams, and supportive partnerships. The 250 K-8th grade students at Prescott come from the urban neighborhoods surrounding the school campus. Like most schools, our school operates on a tight budget which requires teachers to reach out for support and for resources. The art room is a valuable site for enrichment of classroom learning, and we work hard to bring all subjects into each hands-on activity the students complete. Here, we can offer the chance for students to develop their critical thinking and creative problem solving skills, while expressing themselves through the arts.
