Currently I teach an active group of first graders in a high poverty school. My colleagues and I contribute a lot of our personal funds to supplement our students' education so that they get a quality education.
I've taught first grade for 13 years in Title 1 schools in Washington State. I've also taught two years in Washington and two years in Alaska as a Title 1 Reading Specialist, increasing reading levels dramatically.
I absolutely love teaching. Watching my students learn a new skill, understand a concept, or complete a difficult project fills my heart with pride. We have so much fun learning together every day!
If you ask me what I do for fun, I would have to say reading teacher blogs, researching new ways to teach, and creating lessons for my students!
