The students I teach are high school students with a variety of disabilities, including multiple disabilities, autism and intellectual disabilities. I focus on teaching relevant, functional academic and life skills to help them become as independent as possible. We focus on key life skills, such as problem solving, communication, and staying on task. Some of these students will live independently when they graduate. Most will require some support. My goal is to teach these students as much as possible to make them as independent as possible and to help them contribute to society in ways that are meaningful to them.
