My students are from one of the poorest urban city schools in the district and all have learning and behavioral obstacles that they need to overcome. Most of these students have more than just learning problems to overcome and often bring their problems (domestic issues, poor hygiene, etc...) to school.
I teach students in grades ranging from 3rd to 5th grade. They often struggle academically and behaviorally and average more than 2 years below grade level. They are expected to keep up with grade level peers and perform like students functioning on grade level. My students need extra support and motivation with maintaining behaviors and wanted to be in school to learn through specialized materials that my district can't afford.
I know these materials would be used in my classroom and will improve my students behavioral and academic skills. Please, help my students find a love for school and learning!
