My students are hard working, motivated and dedicated honors world history, A.P. U.S. Government and Politics as well A.P. Macroeconomics students that live in a high poverty, urban neighborhood in California. Approximately 85% of the students at my school have access to the free and reduced lunch program and 90% have English as second language. Despite many challenges, my students have dedicated themselves to their educational goals and pushed themselves to take the most rigorous courses offered at our school. My school has very limited access to technology and while teachers attempt to incorporate technology into our course work, we are some what limited to basic word processing and creation of presentations. I know these high level students crave to be challenged and offered opportunities to be creative and to collaborate to create their own learning experiences and also share their knowledge with other students.
