We are two, inclusive 3rd grade classes in a small, urban public school. I am both a general education and special education teacher.
My students love to read and complete fun activities to go along with books! They are fun, active and they enjoy sharing their own silly stories with the class!
Many of my students have also experienced trauma or other emotional distress in their young lives.
My goal is to ensure that they feel safe and supported in our classroom. Providing basic resources, supplies and books will help support their needs and bring more "normalcy" to distance learning and returning to the classroom.
It is also very important to me that my children can see themselves represented in a wide variety of literature and resources.
The focus of my projects are on building literacy skills, social-emotional growth, feeling safe and secure, and most importantly, promoting diversity and inclusion.
