I teach Life Science and Accelerated Biology, and my classroom opens to the remnant of a beautiful outdoor courtyard long abandoned. Our building also has a second, larger courtyard that has fallen the same fate. My students would love to update and create two new outdoor classroom environments while they research our local ecosystem. We are striving to be sure it is easy to maintain, and welcoming for a full class to work outside in the fresh air among trees and flowers already planted.
My amazing accelerated students are finishing their last year here before high school, have beaten all the odds life has presented them with so many obstacles this year alone, and would like to leave their mark on our school for future classes by creating two beautiful outdoor learning areas. What we need are some shade sails to cool the concrete spaces, seating for a full class to work comfortably, and some paint to brighten up the concrete benches and planters already in place. We are working hard to prepare the courtyards for plants and paint, and with your help, we will beautify our school and brighten up the learning for years to come! Thank you!!
