Next year, I will be teaching Kindergarten again. I am excited to use the KinderLiteracy Curriculum, KinderMath Curriculum, and KinderWriting Curriculum by Tara West (a Teachers Pay Teachers seller) as my adopted curriculum. The KinderLiteracy units are based upon the close read model with a supporting text. Each unit of KinderLiteracy focuses on a different theme (e.g. sharing, animals, weather, etc). My students need books like National Geographic Readers, The Very Hungry Caterpillar, The Rainbow Fish and many other books use with the Tara West curriculum. Each week we focus on one mentor text, and each day we look closely at that text. The themed mentor texts focus on different reading strategies and skills including Listening & Learning, Listening & Discovering, and Listening & Annotating. I would really love to have a physical copy of these books to read with my students! This project covers almost an entire year of mentor text read alouds for writing, math and literacy. I am requesting a broad range of literature titles to support our program.
