While the band program is rapidly growing, there is a need for more of the larger instruments such as tubas, baritones, and mellophones. We now have more students than instruments in our band program. The instruments that are now being used are either outdated and can't be fixed or they are borrowed from other band programs. In the upcoming season, we have 4 tubas players with only 2 tubas. We have 4 baritone players with only 2 baritones. We have 4 mellophones players with only 1 mellophone. These instruments will accommodate the instrumentation needed for our program. The instruments will give the students a fair chance at competing in competitions. Without the proper instrumentation, it will be impossible to have the balanced ensemble sound needed to compete. Receiving these instruments will also boost the morale of the students in the band.
