I love my students! I love coming to class each day and challenging them. My main philosophy is that if students feel comfortable in the classroom, they'll feel good about coming to class and will be exposed to more curriculum. So far it's worked because I don't have an attendance or tardy problem in my classes.
I try to bring real world ideas and science concepts to my students. We learn about earthquakes around the world and the destruction associated with them. We learn about natural hazards around the United States and where they may want to live later in life (including hurricanes & tornadoes). We talk about climate change and how it affects the environment around us.
Many of my students are language learners and resource learners who have a difficult time processing and learning concepts through bookwork. For these students and my high level students, I try to bring science alive and give a good picture/visual of what's going on in the world around us.
