I teach at Kirksville Elementary in the small city of Richmond, Kentucky. I am in my SEVENTH year of teaching and I learn from my brilliant students each and every day. One lesson that I quickly learned upon stepping into my classroom for the first time was that each one of my students have VERY individualized needs. I would never have imagined I would be spending my nights figuring out how to get pencils, toothbrushes, Chapstick, construction paper, and all of the other little things my students need every day. When my students need the basics, it is easy to forget that they also need experience with BIG things such as iPads, keyboards, smart boards, and other technology that will prepare them for the future. The untapped potential in my students is ready to EXPLODE! Like I tell my wonderful students, with a little help and encouragement you can change the world.
