Our school district has finally created a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) Specialist teaching position. When I saw this position in my district I jumped at the chance to be one of thirteen teachers to mold and develop this much needed program.
These materials will help low income students use their creativity to build and design STEAM focused projects. I have limited supplies and with 90%+ of our students living below the poverty level, they are unable to buy the supplies themselves. I have pulled all the possible resources from other teachers and our district warehouse, however, I still fall short.
