My students are bright, curious, and full of personality. I teach in Newark, where more than three-quarters of students come from low-income households. Despite the challenges they face, my mathematicians approach learning with energy, determination, and humor—they keep me laughing every single day!
They love asking questions, exploring new ideas, and sharing their unique ways of thinking about math. Their inquisitive nature drives them to problem-solve creatively and to persevere even when the work gets tough.
My mathematicians are ready and willing to have insightful discussions about virtually any topic from place value to Pokémon if you simply give them an open ear (...and possibly some Jolly Ranchers!)
