One thing I love about teaching health and physical education at my elementary school is seeing our students learn the knowledge and habits to help them live a happy and healthy life. Being virtual this year has been challenging for our students in so many aspects, PE included. Our Health and PE program has made incredible progress in making engaging virtual lessons to include fitness, nutrition, social and emotional learning, sports knowledge and sport skills, and many others! My students, who are all Kindergarten through Fifth Grade, have been working hard to be successful in all of their classes however a year of virtual learning has created incredibly tough circumstances for our students each day.
Our Health and PE department wants to reward those students who are giving their best efforts each and every day; also motivates those students who need the extra push this year. As part of an incentive program, I wanted to create t-shirts for these students to keep them working hard and staying healthy during this time! Students who have shown consistent and extraordinary effort in their PE class will be considered for a “Virtual PE All-Star" T-Shirt. These students will be shouted out in our PE class and encouraged to wear their shirts on their PE class day so their peers can see the shirt and be encouraged to be an All-Star! Ðǿմ«Ã½ incentive project will help me get supplies to make my shirts for these students who are being virtual PE All-stars! The vinyl, Cricut supplies (Cricut Maker, heat resistant mat, and toolset), tee shirts (all sizes), and the tee-shirt liner is what you use to help iron on the shirts for the custom slogans. "I am a VIRTUAL PE ALL-STAR!" These students continue to amaze me!
