These resources will be used in our new Maker Studio at BRHS. The BRHS Maker Team is in the process of redesigning an area of the Library Media Center for this STEM/STEAM focus. We envision starting off small by inviting classes and a new Maker Club access to the Maker Studio to tinker, play, experiment, and build using shared resources. Our goal is to create total school access during the instructional day and community access in the evenings during public library hours.
Donations to our project will help us to build and develop a dynamic and engaging Maker Studio for BRHS and the community.
We need to provide our students with more opportunities to explore and wonder. Creating experiences that are interdisciplinary will help students make connections between math, science, social studies, literature, arts, technology, engineering and innovation. Exposure to hands-on projects and the design thinking process will help our students develop essential 21st Century Skills needed to succeed in a STEM/STEAM based world.
