Friends and Family, Thank you so much for your consideration. My students mean the world to me and for the last five years I have worked very hard to instill in them all of the same values that you, my friends, family, teachers and coaches, have instilled in me. Baltimore, especially the Brooklyn neighborhood where my students reside, is a difficult place to grow up. It's a city full of crime, drugs, pollution and unspeakable trauma. For my students, especially my student athletes, they have worked tirelessly to become more than their predicted outcome. They want to go to college, they want to better their neighborhoods, they want careers in business and science and medicine. Despite the odds being so stacked against them, they continue to strive for outcomes beyond what our city expects of them.
